In recent years, China's low-altitude economy has entered a stage of rapid development. At the beginning of 2021, the "development of low-altitude economy" was included in the national plan for the first time - the Outline of the National Comprehensive Three-dimensional Transportation Network Planning; In March 2024, low-altitude economy was written into the Government Work Report for the first time, and more than 20 provinces have included low-altitude economy in the government work agenda.

As a strategic emerging industry, low-altitude economy has a long industrial chain, covering many industries such as aircraft research and development and manufacturing, low-altitude flight infrastructure construction and operation, flight service support, and comprehensive services. As a new economic form, with the advancement of industry and policy, the market space is constantly opening up. According to the "China Low-Altitude Economic Development Research Report (2024)" released by CCID Consulting, the scale of China's low-altitude economy will reach 505.95 billion yuan in 2023, with a growth rate of 33.8%.

5G-A synaesthesia is the key to low-altitude economy

At present, various 5G related application scenarios have sprung up, and the ensuing "signal upgrade" trumpet has also been sounded. From 5G to 5G-A, the communication network is continuously upgraded.

Since the beginning of this year, all parties in the industrial chain have made new plans to promote the global commercial process of 5G-A, sounding the "assembly signal" of 5G-A, and building a solid foundation for the development of low-altitude economy.

Taking China's operators as an example, China Telecom has carried out multiple 5G-A multi-site, multi-UAV full-scene test capability verification in Jiangxinzhou, Jianye, Nanjing, Jiangsu, and Jiangning Binjiang, successfully creating the first 5G-A innovation experimental base in the field of synsensing in Jiangsu, which has greatly promoted the commercial application of 5G-A, and also injected new vitality into the development of low-altitude economy.

At the beginning of the year, Fujian Mobile and Huawei completed the verification of the synsensory capability of 5G-A synsensory integrated low-altitude multi-station continuous networking. It is reported that this is the world's first multi-station continuous networking synsense-integration verification, laying the foundation for the future synsense-integration network to support the prosperity and development of low-altitude economy.

In February this year, China Unicom implemented 5G-A integrated application in Xijiang Base of Pukou District, No. 2 airspace of Nanjing Civil unmanned Aviation Test Zone; Through the mining of low-altitude perception data, the pilot training school jointly explored the evaluation of the trainees' training flight trajectory, improved the teaching and training efficiency, and incubated new business formats.

In short, the outbreak of 5G-A synsensory integration + low-altitude economy has become unstoppable.
