Policy on Conflict Minerals

Number of visits: Date:2016-07-18

Wuhan Gewei Electronic Technologies Co. Ltd. has always been committed to our global social responsibilities, ethical procurement and promotion of sustainable development of the industry.

The term “Conflict Minerals” refers to minerals that are mined and traded in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and adjoining countries under conditions of human rights abuses, as well as environmental degradation, and may directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups and support long-term conflicts in the region. Conflict Minerals include, but are not limited to, tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold. Gewei shares the concerns about conflict minerals and has taken actions to fulfill its responsibilities regarding the issues associated with conflict minerals. Such issues are also widely addressed in the electronic industry as well as other industries, and will need the commitment and joint efforts of multiple industries, governments and non-government organizations.

Gewei wishes to support the joint efforts between industries over social responsibilities in our supply chain, we will commit to the electronic supply chain improvement efforts promoted by EICC and GeSi and refuse any mining of the minerals that may fund or benefit conflicts mentioned above. Pursuant to Dodd-Frank Act, we request disclosure and reports from suppliers on the use and sources of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold in their products, and we will work with suppliers as well as our clients to find more sustainable solutions to conflict mineral related issues.

Gewei does not support or intend to use any mineral from illegal mining activities in the conflict region and will investigate all supplier products over the usage of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold; in such conflict minerals are found in supplier products, suppliers will be required to provide proof of sources of the minerals and implement such requirements on their own supply chains, too.

All suppliers of Gewei shall abide by this policy and fill in the CFSI_CMRT Form. And we recommend suppliers visit www.conflictfreesourcing.org to learn the latest updates, training information, guidelines and report templates regarding conflict minerals as well as the list of conflict-free smelters.
